IKAPE Rotary WDT Needle Distributor
IKAPE's bearing-driven WDT tool: 14 needles at 0.25 mm, a machined aluminium body at 430 g, and a one-way bearing that turns the head a full 360° from one press and twist.
accessories · MM019
A rotary WDT tool for the step before tamping: eleven 0.4 mm needles set across the disc break clumps as the head turns, and a ring of eight magnets in the base holds the tool on the basket rim so it turns flat instead of skating. Depth is adjustable to suit the dose, and the whole tool comes apart — the head unscrews and the frame lifts off — so it can be rinsed rather than brushed. Aluminium alloy body with 304 stainless needles, listed in 51, 54 and 58 mm. Supplier packs 36 to a carton.

01
The disc carries eleven 0.4 mm needles at different positions rather than in a ring, so the same clump gets cut from more than one angle as the head turns. Under them sit the two things that matter day to day: distribution across the whole bed, and a depth that can be set to the dose.

02
Eleven needles in 304 stainless, spread across the needle plate rather than bunched at the centre. Thinner needles break a clump into more pieces without dragging the bed, which is the difference between a distributor and a whisk.

03
The base holds eight magnets in a ring. They pull the tool down onto the basket rim so it sits at 90° and turns flat — a distributor that tilts as it turns redistributes the coffee unevenly, which is the usual reason a WDT step does not repeat.

04
The head unscrews, the needle frame lifts out and the body separates, so the grounds that pack into the corners come out under a tap instead of staying there and going stale.
