A way of dosing that suits a bar as much as a shelf. Eight borosilicate tubes sit in a laser-cut steel frame on a solid wood base: weigh a dose into each tube, cap it, and the week is portioned. The tubes are clear, so you can see the roast level without opening one, and the frame holds them upright so the base does not have to be moved to take a tube out. Two cap types: a plain wood cap for storage, and a one-way valve cap that lets CO2 out of a fresh roast and keeps air from coming back in, which is what resting beans actually needs.

01
Why the valve matters
Freshly roasted beans keep giving off CO2, and that gas pushes back against the water in the basket. The valve opens on the pressure difference, lets the CO2 out and keeps outside air from coming back in — which is what resting a roast is for.
02
Weigh once, brew eight times
Portion a bag into the tubes on Sunday, cap them, and every brew that week is one tube. No scoop, no scale in the morning, and the grinder hopper stays clean.
03
The numbers
The base is 17.6 cm by 8.8 cm and weighs 421 g, which is what keeps it from sliding when you pull a tube out one-handed. A 10 cm tube is 32 g and holds 16–18 g of beans; the 12 cm tube holds 19–21 g. Both sit in the same frame.
04
Glass, not plastic
Clear tubes, so the roast level is visible without opening one, and glass does not carry the smell of the last bean the way plastic does.
