Bean Storage
Single doses in tubes, or one jar under vacuum
Storage is about two things: keeping air away from the roast, and making the morning dose a single movement. There are two ways to do it here. A tube rack portions a bag into single doses before the week starts — weigh into each tube, cap it, and the grinder hopper stays clean; the cap decides how long beans keep, since a solid wood cap seals while a one-way valve also vents the CO2 a fresh roast gives off. A vacuum jar works on the whole bag instead: a pump in the lid draws the air out, a silicone ring holds it, and the jar is reopened as often as you like without the beans sitting in oxygen between brews. Choose the rack if you weigh per shot; choose the jar if you keep one bag open at a time.
- Single-dose tubes, or one jar you reopen all week
- Solid cap for storage, one-way valve for resting a fresh roast
- Capacity against your usual dose — 16-18 g a tube, or 200-500 g a jar
